FG, Imo Governor Train Youths On Modern Methods of Electrical Installations and Maintenance

The federal government has trained youths in Imo state on digital skills to enhance their productivity in the area.

The federal government has called on spirited individuals to invest in young people by empowering them with necessary skills to build a brighter and more prosperous future.

The Chief Executive Officer National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure NASENI Mr. Suileman Halilu stated this during the empowerment of two hundred youths on skill acquisition and youth empowerment programme in collaboration with Imo state government in Owerri.

Mr. Halilu explained that the program is part of President BolaTinubu’s agenda to develop the nation. he noted that food security, economic development, poverty alleviation, job creation as well as access to capital and consumer credit are other sectors that needed critical attention

Mr Halilu disclosed that the beneficiaries were carefully selected and trained in electrical installation and maintainanace

“To all the participants I want you to take care of this tools that you will receive”

The Imo State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma said the administration is poised to train and equiped three hundred thousand imo youths on digital skills to enrich their capacity and tackle youth restiveness.

Chief Uzodimma announced the cash support of one hundred thousand naira each for the two hundred youths trained and twenty thousand naira each for the three hundred and five women empowered by the state government.

He urged them to be financially responsible and manage the opportunity given to them

“I’ve no doubt that the beneficiary have received the requisite training that would enable them to be self employed. Hopefully they can also Transfer the skills to others. Let me commend the management of NASENI for his thoughtfulness and diligence in seeing this exercise through”

In a remark the Chairman of the Occasion Dr Stella Lemchi expressed happiness to see youths showing interest to acquire skills on design, installation and maintainanace of electrical system

One of the beneficiaries, Mr Justice Ukegbu thanked president Tinubu and Imo state government for giving them the opportunity to learn.

“In the past five days we have been here to learn on morden ethics on installations and I am proud to announce to you that we have learnt very well”

The highlights of the event were presentation of start up tools to the beneficiaries and handing over of safe energy cooking stoves to the women drawn from 305 INEC wards.
