NLC, TUC, Call Off Nation Wide Strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called off the nation wide industrial action barely 21 hours it mobilized members and affiliates to join..

The Enugu State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Fabian Nwigbo in a telephone interview with the NUJ Secretariat in Enugu, said Labour called off the strike a while ago during a zoom NEC meeting.

According to him “workers are hereby advised to resume work in earnest tomorrow November 16, 2023.

In the same vein, the chairman Nigerian Union of journalists Enugu state, comrade Sam Udekwe and the Secretary, Dame Ifeoma Amuta urge members to resume duty immediately in line with the directive from labour leaders.

it would be recalled that labour leaders and the Federal Government had been in a meeting since the commencement of the nation wide strike but as at the time of filing this report, details of the meeting had not been made public.
