Just In: Enugu’s Rita Mbah Joins Board of Trustees in Historic Inauguration

As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) welcomes new members to its Board of Trustees (BOT), one name stands out: Rita Mbah of Enugu State.

Mbah is the youngest member of the board, bringing a fresh perspective to the table of the Adolphus Wabara-led Board of Trustees

The inauguration ceremony, held at the party’s headquarters in the Federal Capital Territory, was a historic moment for the party and for Mbah herself.

With the inauguration now behind her, the expectations for Mbah’s tenure on the Board of Trustees are high.

As the youngest member of the board, she is seen as a trailblazer who will bring a new energy and perspective to the group.

Many anticipate that she will focus on issues of youth empowerment and community development, drawing on her experience as a leader in Enugu State.

Some believe that she may even become a future leader of the party, given her potential for growth and success.

Dame Rita Mbah started her political career as a Special Adviser to the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, on Intergovernmental-Affairs, she also served as a Commissioner for Special Duties to the same administration of Of Gov. Sullivan Chime.

In 2015, the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi after observing her performance during the previous administration, re-appointed her back to the same position. Dame Rita Mbah served a Commissioner for Special Duties a service she rendered to her dear state until 2017 when she was elevated to Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, a position she held until 2019.

Among other numerous positions she has held in the past, Dame Rita Mbah was also a member of Enugu State Advisory Committee, Committee member, Enugu Investment Summit, Manager of Nike Lake Resort, Secretary, PDP Campaign, Secretary, Good Luck Campaign Organization, just to name but a few.

The announcement of her appointment follows the conclusion of the 76th BoT meeting, a gathering of esteemed party members and leaders at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Tuesday. This strategic restructuring comes at a critical juncture for the PDP as it gears up to face future electoral challenges head-on.

With Adolphus Wabara at the helm, whose vast political experience and tenure as Senate President underscore his leadership credentials, and Ahmed Makarfi as Secretary, bringing with him a distinguished record as former Governor of Kaduna State, the PDP is poised to chart a bold new course. Their collective vision and strategic acumen are expected to inject renewed vigor and direction into the party’s operations.

As the PDP embarks on this new chapter of leadership under the stewardship of Adolphus Wabara and Ahmed Makarfi, the party’s faithful are filled with renewed hope and optimism.

With Dame Rita Mbah’s appointment symbolizing a commitment to youth empowerment and inclusivity, the PDP stands poised to reclaim its position as the vanguard of Nigeria’s political landscape.
