Police Confirm Murder Of Anambra Community President General

Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the murder of the President General of Umuoji community in Idemili North Local Government Area of the the state, Chief Sylvester Onyima.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga who confirmed the incident said any new development will be made available to the media.

Meanwhile, information gathered has it that the assassins on Friday night stormed the house of the PG, of Umuoji killed him in his bedroom with machete.

According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, his death was discovered when people who attended a meeting he (PG) allegedly convened at an undisclosed venue waited for hours without seeing or hearing from him.

They then decided to go to his house and on getting there, they saw him lying in the pool of his blood with machete cuts all over his body in his bedroom

The source added, “The way he was killed showed that he was manhandled and maimed by the assailants who ensured he died on the spot before fleeing the scene.

“His assassination may not be unconnected with the communal crises that include leadership and tenure elongation having allegedly served and completed two tenures.”

It was however learnt that sequel to the assassination of the president general, that palpable fear had enveloped community, forcing people in the area to desert the market and major roads that were hitherto known to be beehive of activities.
