After being kidnapped for four days, the Director of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) has finally been rescued.
The Director was abducted by unknown gunmen this week at the UNTH gate.
The police have not released any details about the rescue operation, but a source close to the Director’s family has informed Desirenews that the rescue operation was conducted by a team of police officers, acting on intelligence provided by an anonymous tipster.
“The Director is unharmed. We have established contact with her last night when she returned.
Her family has expressed their relief at his safe return.”
“She is in good spirits and is grateful to be back home with his family.”
However, the source has also expressed concern about the lack of security in the area, and has called for more protection for public officials.
Details later.
