Mr. Mfonobong David Udoudom, a General Studies lecturer at the university, who was caught on camera attempting to coerce a married female student into having sex with him in exchange for a passing grade.

When the student rejected his advances and offered to pay money instead, the lecturer refused, reportedly insisting on sexual intercourse in his office.

The student, shocked and disturbed by the lecturer’s demands, confided in her husband, who then lodged a formal complaint with the university authorities.

According to reports, the university asked the student to “play along” with the lecturer to gather evidence, which culminated in the now viral video.

In response to the disturbing allegations, the university’s acting Public Relations Officer, Dr. Okwun Omeaku, released a statement announcing Mr. Udoudom’s indefinite suspension, pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel investigation.

The university emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards sexual misconduct, citing its existing Sexual Harassment Policy which guides staff and student relationships.

Dr. Omeaku added, “We are committed to protecting our students from any form of abuse and exploitation. If the lecturer is found guilty, the university management will not hesitate to punish him according to our rules.”
