A Youth Group, the Concerned Youths of Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, has presented a cheque of N25 million to a Chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming LGA polls in the state, Chief Sunday Nwali to purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms.

The group’s President, Alex Oguta while presenting the cheque to the aspirant, said the donation was the group ‘s way of supporting Nwali to achieve his aspiration of occupying the office.

Oguta said that the gesture was a testament to Nwali’s selfless service to humanity, particularly in the council.

“We feel greatly honoured to present a cheque to him, as he has a plethora of remarkable antecedents in the service of humanity.

“He steadily sponsors students for overseas studies, pays school fees for indigent students which covers the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and other external examination fees among other humanitarian strides.

“Nwali’s philanthropic gestures have positively impacted on countless lives, inspired hope and fostering a sense of oneness in the area.”

He noted that Nwali, popularly known as Smano celebrates Christmas, Easter, and other festivities with the rich and poor in ways that promote hope.

“Nwali’s commitment to social activities in the council and beyond is exemplary as he has consistently demonstrated passion for the welfare of others.

“His leadership and vision are precisely what we need to propel our council to greater heights and we are convinced he is the ideal candidate.

“We urge him to utilise this support effectively in pursuance of his political aspirations as the support of youths of the council is total.”

The President noted that the group was aware of the harsh economic realities in Nigeria but levied themselves to ensure that nothing stops Nwalii from mounting the saddle of the council’s leadership.

“We believe you are mostly suited to uphold the leadership strides of Governor Francis Nwifuru which is anchored on people’s charter of needs mantra.”

In his response, Nwali thanked the group for the gesture, noting that he was overwhelmed by the visible show of support.

“I vow not to disappoint the youths, elders and generality of the people but will strive to repose the confidence reposed in me when I hopefully ascend the throne.

“You showed me this immense love despite the harsh economic conditions and I will remain eternally grateful for it.

“I assure you of effective representation and utmost accountability of the council’s funds when I hopefully assume office as Chairman.”
