In a heartwarming demonstration of leadership and compassion, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has been praised by the Nigerian Red Cross Society for his swift intervention in relocating children from their orphanage home in the Holy Ghost area of Enugu metropolis.

The orphanage, affected by ongoing development projects in the area, faced challenges after the contractor failed to complete renovation work on a new government-provided facility.

Governor Mbah promptly ordered the immediate relocation of the children to the Ken David Orphanage Home within two hours, ensuring their safety and well-being until the new site is fully prepared. The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the orphanage and prioritizing the welfare of every child in Enugu State.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Enugu chapter secretary Tony Udegbu shared his appreciation for the governor’s immediate response to the plight of the children. “We are very grateful to Governor Mbah for his swift intervention,” he said, emphasizing the positive impact on the children’s lives.

Ngozi Enih, the Enugu State Commissioner for Children, Gender, and Social Development, highlighted the government’s dedication to child welfare, noting their partnership with the Ken David Orphanage Home and efforts to provide a more suitable permanent facility for the children.
Agudiegwu Ngozi, director of the King David Orphanage, assured the children would receive the highest level of care while in their temporary home, reaffirming their commitment to working with the Enugu State Government to improve the lives of orphans and widows in the community.
