Amidst the ongoing tussle over the Emirship of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano who was recently dethroned, has broken his silence and appealed to the public to maintain peace. Bayero, who addressed a gathering at his temporary residence, emphasized the significance of justice in resolving the dispute, expressing confidence that it would prevail.

Speaking in the Hausa language, the dethroned Emir urged the public to uphold the law and exercise patience while awaiting the outcome of the legal process. Bayero’s call for peace and justice highlights the importance of maintaining stability in Kano, one of Nigeria’s most influential states.

He said, “I call on the people to remain law-abiding while awaiting the outcome of the legal process in this tussle.

“We call on the authority to do justice in this matter. Kano is a very influential state in Nigeria. Whatever affects Kano affects Nigeria. May peace reign in Kano. We pray for Allah to bless Kano with responsible and just leaders. Justice is the way to go on every issue. There will be justice. Nobody is above the law. We will accept whatever the law says. I appreciate all the people who have shown concern.

“As I said, justice will take its course. We will keep on praying for peace in Kano State. May Allah the Almighty protect us.”

The Emir’s dethronement has been met with mixed reactions from the public, with some calling for his reinstatement, while others support the state government’s decision.

The dethronement of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has been the subject of intense debate in Kano, with many residents taking to social media to express their opinions. Some have argued that the move was politically motivated, while others have accused the Emir of misconduct.
