Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is an incorruptible leader who prioritizes public welfare over personal aggrandizement. During his tenure as the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi ran a very transparent government that underscored his incorruptible disposition. This style of leadership has continued to endear him to the people of Enugu and those who value good governance across the nation.

He established the Enugu State Accountability and Transparency Agency to monitor government finances and activities, with the aim of making his government’s policies clear to the people of Enugu, focusing primarily on the welfare of the citizens. As a leader who cares deeply about his people, he wanted them to understand that his actions at Lion Building were transparent, ensuring that subventions were utilized for the betterment of the state and its citizens.

Driven by a commitment to accountability, the former Governor implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) to centralize government funds and prevent mismanagement. He also set up an Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate and prosecute corrupt practices, ensuring that funds allocated for specific projects were used effectively.

Dr. Ugwuanyi launched the Enugu State Corruption Reporting Platform, enabling citizens to report corrupt practices easily. This platform facilitated the reporting of corrupt activities within the state. His establishment of a Whistleblower Protection Policy aimed to protect those who reported corrupt practices from any potential harm.

He ensured that his cabinet members adhered to his incorruptible standards, taking decisive actions against corrupt officials, including suspensions where necessary. His resolute stance against corruption, especially among officials who did not uphold his values, demonstrated his commitment to integrity.

Notably, no anti-graft agency in Nigeria or beyond has ever indicted him for corruption during his tenure as Governor or as the honorable member representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency to date. Ugwuanyi is widely regarded as an incorruptible leader who prioritizes the welfare of the people over personal gain. His track record speaks volumes about his character.

I urge the people of Enugu North to choose a leader untainted by scandal to represent them in 2027. Dr. Ugwuanyi, if elected, will prioritize the welfare of the people at the Red Chamber, just as he did as Governor and as a member of the House of Representatives. Love him or hate him, his integrity remains unquestioned.
