Multiple people, including security personnel, have lost their lives in a suspected attack in two communities in Anambra state.

The incident left the communities shaken, as residents are grappling with the devastating aftermath of the tragedy.
Reports indicate that the assailants unleashed a wave of violence, targeting both security personnel and civilians alike

In the wake of the violent attack in Nnobi, Chigbogu Ezeonwu, a Security Supervisor in the area, provided a detailed account of the harrowing incident.

According to his testimony to newsmen, Ezeonwu and his team were outside when a speeding vehicle occupied by alleged armed men arrived. “The assailants opened fire, grievously wounding two of the security operatives, before continuing their rampage to a nearby burial ceremony, where two more individuals were fatally shot.”

Ezeonwu recounted that the gunmen subsequently proceeded to Afor Nnobi, where three security personnel were killed.
“The suspected unknown gunmen then targeted a location in Ahuda, where another individual lost his life,” Ezeonwu stated. “The injured persons were rushed to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital in Nnewi for medical attention.”

Confirming the incident, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, noted, “We are aware of the unfortunate attack and are currently investigating the incident.
