Criminals Have No Hiding Place In Our Communities – DC Coordinator

By Roland Ike
The Coordinator of Ukaba Development Centre of Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi, Chief Chika Nwangele has declared that his leadership would flush criminals from communities in the area.
Speaking to newsmen in Abakaliki Sunday, Nwangele said this was in pursuance of a directive from Governor Francis Nwifuru to Council leaderships to ensure adequate security in their domains.
Nwangele popularly called Asaa in the Ebonyi political and social circles, noted that his leadership was effectively collaborating with security agencies especially the military, in checking insecurity in the area.
“We recently neutralised some of the hoodlums terrorising the Abaomege /Akpoha axis of the Abakaliki/ Afikpo federal highway while arresting others.
“The hoodlums met their match when they confronted personnel of the Nigerian Army whom we immediately mobilised to the scene where they were robbing passengers.
“Our tactical security response and coordination ensured that the hoodlums were ambushed and subdued.”
He commended the army personnel for their commitment in ensuring a successful security exercise noting that such collaboration would be sustained to secure the area effectively.
Mr Abel Ofor, an Indigene of the area commended the security efforts put in place by the leadership of the development centre noting that it has made the people sleep with their eyes closed.
“The criminals’ onslaught along the Abaomege axis of the Enugu–Abakaliki express road has affected economic activities in the area and we hope that this security initiative would solve the problem.”
