The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero has declared his readiness to honor the police summons to appear before the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) today.

This comes after intense speculation and mounting pressure on the labour leader, who was accused of serious offenses including criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, and treason.

In a statement released to the media, Ajaero said, “I am a law-abiding citizen, and I am ready to face any investigation that is conducted in a fair and transparent manner. I believe that the truth will prevail, and I have nothing to hide.”

As news of Ajaero’s cooperation with the police spreads, there is growing tension among labour unions and civil society groups. Many view the summons as a targeted attack on the labour movement and an attempt to silence dissent and opposition.

Despite the mounting pressure, Ajaero has remained resolute in his conviction, stating that “The NLC will not be intimidated or silenced. We will continue to fight for the rights and welfare of workers across Nigeria. The struggle continues.”
