Isi-Uzo, Aninri Farmers Laud Governor Mbah for Lifesaving Support After Flood, Herdsmen Attacks

In the aftermath of devastating floods and alleged herdsmen attacks, the people of Mgbuji Eha-Amufu and Abor isi-ala in Isi-uzo local government area who were affected by alleged herdsmen attacks have expressed their gratitude and praise for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s lifesaving support

Also in Okpanku, Aninri Local Government Area, victims affected by a ravaging flood disaster equally commended Enugu state government for the relief materials they recieved.

The community members, many of whom had lost their homes and livelihoods to the floods and attacks, lauded Governor Mbah’s swift and compassionate response.

“We are so grateful for the governor’s support,” said one farmer, who spoke under anonymity said, “He has shown us that we are not alone in our struggles and that our government cares about our well-being.”

While receiving the items, some farmers who narrated their ordeals after the attacks described Dr Mbah as farmer friendly governor, saying that the gesture is unprecedented. They promised to give Mbah’s administration the needed support.

They also noted that the governor’s response to the crisis is a confirmation that even in the darkest times, there is always hope for a better future.

Other beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen, were full of beautiful smiles. Mr Azubuike Kingsley, from Okpanku community commended the governor’s efforts to cushion the effect of flood disaster on his People. “We were left with nothing but the support we have received has given us hope, “he said.

Also speaking, Mrs Rose Onu thanked the Governor, saying that the support intervention has brought hope and relief to them. ” We are deeply grateful to our compassionate Governor for his prompt intervention in our time of need, his kindness and generosity demonstrate true leadership,” she said.

Mrs Jane Ikechukwu, Mrs Sussana Osi and many others showered praises to the state government, adding that the support has made a significant difference in their lives.

“The governor’s gesture is sequel to his commitment to alleviating the plights of the people, especially victims of natural and human induced disasters.”

The commendable initiative is being facilitated by Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) programme, Enugu, Result Area 2 (Fadama).

Our Correspondent reports that over 2,000 25kg Bags of rice, as well as agricultural inputs such as bundles of cassava stem, herbicides, organic fertilizers, power tillers with operator’s kit, cassava graters with jack, rice threshers, communal fryers and multi-purpose grinders were distributed to both the victims of the alleged herdsmen attacks at Mgbuji Eha-Amufu and Abor isi-ala in Isi-uzo and those in Okpanku, Aninri LGAs.
