How Former Super Eagles Stars Plan To Develop Sports In Anambra

The Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, Chikelue Iloenyosi and former Super Eagles Defensive Midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi have declared readiness to partner in football talent hunt and development in the state.

Iloenyosi, popularly known as “D’ General” in the nation’s football circles made this known in an interview after the AFCON 2013 winner, Onazi paid him a courtesy visit in his Abuja Office.

The World Youth Championship and Dream Team Olympics 2000 Star Defender, Iloenyosi said that Onazi identifies the huge soccer potentials in Anambra and the administrative acumen to harness them.

“He realises that I am an advocate of grassroots talent development and the opportunities for such abound in Anambra state.

“We have set a machinery in motion to organise a talent hunt, football competitions among others to provide the spring board for these talents to achieve their football dreams”

The former Super Eagles defender said he and Onazi made their marks in football as youths and the venture would surely keep youths off the streets and crime.”

Onazi, FIFA U–17 World Cup ‘Nigeria 2009’ Deep Lying Midfielder, thanked Iloenyosi for the warm reception accorded him and described his host as an accomplished footballer and astute administrator.

He said the collaboration with Anambra FA Boss would go a long way in discovering and developing raw football talents in the state and shape them towards stardom.
