Ohanaeze Forum Honours Enugu South Council Chairman with Patron Title

The Executive Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Council, Hon.Caleb Ani has been recognized and accorded the patron of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Enugu South Chapter today, the 11th day of November 2024 at the council headquarter Uwani.

The honour was bestowed with a large full portrait of the indomitable Mayor during a solidarity courtesy call by the forum members led by the Chairman of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo , Enugu, South Chapter who doubles as Enugu State Chairman of Chairmen ; Chief Emma Ugwu JP. (Enyiduru) to The Council Chairman.

In his introductory massage, Chief Emma Ugwu on behalf of the socio cultural group members, aptly went down the memory lane of Ohaneze founder to the Former Governor of Eastern Region; Ezeogo Francis Akanu Ibiam of Uwana- Afikpo in 1976 and after Three years of it’s formation, our present political grand father; The Former Governor of Old Anambra State; Senator Jim Ifanyichukwu Nwobodo became the member of the highest organ of Ohaneze ( imeobi ) in 1979.

He mentioned that the purpose of their visit was to formally congratulate the Council Chairman for his victory as the Executive Chairman Of Enugu South Council and reaffirm their pledge of unalloyed support for his administration as well as the Governor.

“Any individual born in or of Igbo land is automatically an Ohaneze , the only difference is that we are the members of Ohaneze Government and as the 001 of Ohaneze in Enugu South Council, we Confer this honor as the Patron of this great Union to bear the front banner and favourably pilot our affairs in Enugu South and the State Level. Our mission remains ,to promote, project and support Igbo race, language, and her rich cultural heritage any where we are. We live for one another , hence our greeting method, ” Ohaneze, Onye Ayala Nwanne Ya”

“We equally solicit your support and recognition for appointment in your regime, especially in the choice of the next State President of Ohaneze by January since it is the turn of Enugu East Senatorial Zone to Produce the next State President

Never feel discouraged to recommend anyone from this group because Enugu South Ohaneze has all it takes , the timber and caliber of people eligible for the State post is numerous within us , We request that you use you good office to influence this achievement” he added

Ugwu disclosed that his tenure as Chairman Ohaneze would be terminating by next Month and expressed happiness while applauding the Working State Governor and the council Chairman for even dispensation of countless innovative projects across the State and the enabling operational environment he is enjoyed/ enjoying working under them.

In his speech, the council boss delightfully appreciated the group for the honour and gift which he acknowledged as one a kind. He mentioned that he would not take their support during his electioneering for granted. He reiterated his resolved to serve Ndi Enugu in his best capacity to ensure good governance penetrates every nook and cranny of his jurisdiction.

In his vote of thanks, the State Assistant Secretary Ohaneze ; Hon. C. Nnaji thanked the workaholic State Governor for his unique administrative style and the southern Mayor for his open door policy.

Some of the dignified persons present are Comrade Onyekwelu Nwobodo, Hon Elijah Ogbe (Former Ohaneze Enugu South Chairman), Hon Lilian Nkeoma Agbo (Women Wing Leader), Hon. Florence Ozeh( State Sec. Women Wing), Barr.Chukwuma Oghe (State Youth Wing Legal Adviser) , Hon. Benjamin Nsude ( LGA Former Leader)
