The Enugu Ministry of Works is warning the public about a scam involving fake training events, seminars, and workshops. Impersonators are using the ministry’s name to target individuals and organizations, asking for payment for these fake events.

The ministry has made it clear that it is not affiliated with any such events and encourages the public to report any suspicious activity.

The Ministry emphasized that it does not request payment in any form or personal information for training or workshops. The public is advised to ignore any calls or communications from these impersonators.

The state Ministry of Works also warned that participation in these fake events is at the risk of the attendee, and the ministry will not be held responsible for any financial losses or fraud resulting from involvement with these impersonators.

To verify the authenticity of any invitations or requests, the Ministry encourages the public to contact the ministry directly.

The warning was released by the Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure and was signed by the Honorable Commissioner, Engr Gerald C. Otiji.
Engr Gerald C. Otiji, in his capacity as the Commissioner of the Ministry, issued the warning on behalf of the ministry to protect the public from the potential harm caused by these scams.

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure stated as follows:

1. No Affiliation: These events are not organized, endorsed, or affiliated with the Ministry.
2. No Warranty: The Ministry does not guarantee accuracy, relevance, or quality of training or materials.
3. No invitation for meeting, Workshop,Seminar or Conference
4. No request for payment in whatever form or personal information.
5. Attend at Your Own Risk: Participation is at your own risk; attendees have no claims against the Ministry.

Warning
To avoid fraud and financial loss, ignore calls and communications from these entities.
Any invitation for a meeting is through our regular platforms which you should confirm from the ministry.
