NAWOJ Enugu Celebrates International Women’s Day: Accelerates Action for Gender Equality

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Enugu State Chapter joins the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day, honoring the resilience and determination of women everywhere.

Comrade Ngozi Ngene, Chairperson of NAWOJ Enugu, calls on women worldwide to recognize progress made and actively engage in overcoming the remaining barriers to gender equality, in line with this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action.”

“This special day celebrates women’s achievements, courage, and unwavering commitment to creating a more equal and just world,” Ngene stated. “It serves as a reminder that women’s rights are human rights, and that equality is essential for a prosperous and peaceful world.”

NAWOJ Enugu salutes women who are breaking barriers, shattering glass ceilings, and pushing boundaries for their contributions. Ngene emphasized that women deserve to be valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

“We call on governments, corporate organizations, businesses, and individuals to join us in this effort to create a world where women and girls can thrive and reach their potential,” Ngene concluded.
