New FCT Police Boss Assumes Duty, Vows To Tackle Crime

The new Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Commissioner, Ajao Saka Adewale, has assumed duty and vows to tackle crime headlong.

The new Commissioner of Police was appointed following the redeployment of his predecessor, AIG Olatunji Disu.

A seasoned officer with over 30 years of experience, CP Adewale pledged to strengthen security and intensify the fight against crime in the nation’s capital.

In his first address as FCT’s 33rd Commissioner of Police, Adewale assured residents of his commitment to maintaining law and order, improving police-community relations, and deploying intelligence-driven strategies to combat crime.

“The safety of lives and property remains our top priority. We will work tirelessly to ensure Abuja remains secure for all,” he assured.

A Veteran Crime Fighter,
Born in Boripe, Osun State, CP Adewale holds a B.Sc. in Geography Education from the University of Ilorin. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 and trained at the Nigeria Police Academy, after which he launched a career that saw him serve in various key commands across the country.

He has led crack teams tackling high-profile crimes, having served as:
– Commissioner of Police, Surveillance Squad, Akwa Ibom
– Deputy Commissioner, Airport Command, Lagos
– Deputy Commissioner, Zonal CID, Zone 2, Lagos
– Assistant Commissioner, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos

With training from institutions including the FBI and leadership courses at Jaji and Abuja, Adewale is well-versed in intelligence-led policing and crisis management.
