Nsukka LGA Upscales Capacity: Trains 550 Security Personnel, 4000 Teachers for Smart Schools Takeoff in September

In a strategic move to improve safety, enhance educational outcomes and drive economic growth, Nsukka Local Government Area has launched an ambitious human capital development initiative, featuring comprehensive training to security personnel and ICT training to 4000 teachers.

The chairman, Hon. Engr Chinedu Asogwa stated this when Executive members of Nsukka Journalist Forum (NJF) paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Asogwa elaborated on the comprehensive security and ICT training programs which are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of local security personnel and teachers. He emphasized the importance of these initiatives in driving economic growth, improving educational outcomes, and ensuring the safety as well as well-being of Nsukka residents.

“Getting 4000 teachers ready for the smart school takeoff in September this year requires a strategic approach.
Professional Training is essential to equip teachers with the necessary digital and pedagogical skills to teach effectively in a smart school environment. This training focuses on using technology to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.”

This initiative will enable the trained teachers to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices, creating a more engaging and interactive learning experience for students in the smart school. Asogwa also said.

On the issue of security, he said “We recognize the importance of security in maintaining a safe and conducive environment for our citizens. That’s why we’ve trained 550 local security personnel to beef up security in Nsukka Local Government. Our goal is to ensure that Nsukka remains a haven of peace and security, where people can live, work and thrive without fear.”

“We’re committed to providing our security personnel with the necessary resources to effectively discharge their duties. This investment in security is a critical component of our broader strategy to drive economic growth, improve living standards, and enhance the overall quality of life for our citizens. By prioritizing security, we’re creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, investors to invest, and for our people to live in peace and prosperity.”

He therefore called on Nsukka people who are from other political parties to come home and contribute their quota in ensuring the administration succeed assuring that now is the time of governance.

Responding, the chairman NJF, Comrade Benson Whyte Ezugwu commended the developmental strides of the administration of Hon. Engr. Chinedu Asogwa which is in line with that of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah his master. He encouraged him to continue at the pace of even development to his people abd solicited a collaboration with NJF in the discharge of their duties.

Some members of the forum were also in attendance during the visit.
