Udenu LGA Unveils Ambitious Development Projects Under Aka Eze Aka’s Leadership

Udenu Local Government Area is on the cusp of a transformative era driven by the Chairman, Aka Eze Aka’s vision for comprehensive development.

During a recent meeting with the Nsukka Journalist Forum, (NJF) Akachukwu Eze Akachukwu the local government chairman, outlined his administration’s ambitious plans to revamp infrastructure, stimulate economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents, indigen and travellers who stop by for one thing or the other around and within Obollo Affor.

Receiving members of Nsukka Journalists Forum who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, he said “Journalists are the bridge that connects the people with those in power and authority,” while acknowledging the crucial role of journalists in disseminating information to the public.

“My leadership is built on the principles of transparency, accountability and community engagement.
Some of the key projects and initiatives in Udenu include: the Ukwuakpu road construction and another 19.8-kilometer road project set to enhance connectivity and facilitate economic growth in this area.
We have kicked off Inter-ward sports events to promote youth engagement and talent development. We acquired land to be used for food and animal production, boosting the local economy and creating employment opportunities.

He continued “the Udenu ICT Hub in Obollo will equip young people with basic ICT skills, enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial prospects both at home and abroad. On the WASH initiative he said “Provision of boreholes, toilets, and bathrooms in markets and other public spaces will improve hygiene and sanitation, reducing the risk of water-borne diseases and ending open defacation in every ward in Udenu local government area.

Also, a designated food market will replace roadside sellers, providing a modern and sanitary platform for food vendors and authentic buyers.

“We are inspired by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s initiatives, which have transformed Enugu State into a hub of development,” Aka Eze Aka said. “We aim to replicate similar projects in Udenu, leveraging the state government’s experience and expertise to drive growth and development.”

In a reaction, the chairman Nsukka Journalists Forum NJF, Benson Whyte Ezugwu said “there is no doubt that under your leadership, Udenu Local Government Area is poised for significant growth and development. Your administration’s ambitious plans and commitment to transparency and accountability have raised hopes for a brighter future for the people of Udenu.

Earlier, he emphasized that the aim of the visit was to familiarize with the chairman while appreciating God for elevating him to the rank of mayor of the council.

Meanwhile the scribe of NJF, Felix Oguejiofor Abugu prayed for Gods guidance upon the leadership of Udenu local government council so as to continue the trend of developing the area.

The visit was more like a family talk as Aka Eze Aka reaffirms his membership to NJF
