The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.) has eulogised the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) noting that Nigerians should be proud of the scheme for its achievements.
Ibas made the remark Friday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government of the state in a .message to the swearing-in ceremony of 2025 Batch A Stream I Corps Members, deployed to the State.
The Sole Administrator represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, said that the NYSC had succeeded in unifying and integrating citizens of the country.

“The NYSC is a vehicle for nation building and development and I commend its managers for their commitment, dedication and hardwork.
“All these are aimed.at improving the operations of the scheme to meet contemporary technological needs of the 21st century–graduate youths.
“I charge the corps members to repay the trust reposed in them by Nigerians as the generation hoped to restore the country to the path of honour, dignity and prosperity,”
The State Coordinator of the NYSC in Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe in his address, enjoined the corps members to make honest and patriotic sacrifices that will engender rapid economic growth and peace in the country.
“I commend the corps members for demonstrating high sense of commitment, to adapt to the rigours of the orientation exercise.
“This is aimed at realising objectives of the orientation course.”
A total of 2, 018 corps members comprising 752 males and 1, 266 females were sworn-in at the occasion by Hon. Margaret Opara who represented the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon. Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi.
