The chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Dr. Eric Odo has warned that no part of Igbo-Etiti land would be ceded to any person or group.

This is as he charges security personnel to work in synergy in order to combat criminal activities in the area.

Odo stated this on Monday during a meeting with heads of security agencies at the council’s headquarters in Ogbede.

He directed heads of security agencies to protect the territorial boundaries of the LGA from those who intend to forcefully invade and occupy the land.

He argued that working in synergy would go a long way in ensuring that they secure lives and properties of the people, which he added is the primary responsibility of the government.

Reacting to a demand by the Nigerian Army Commander in charge of Igbo-Etiti, Capt. M. Zakari, he said the council has already procured a patrol vehicle to enable the army to set up a checkpoint along the Aku/Ikolo road.

According to him, this would go a long way in restoring the confidence of motorists who use the road.
