NADCEL 2025: Chief Imam Tasks Army Personnel on Fear of God During Operations

By Ken Stanley

The Chief Imam 82 Division of Nigerian Army, Lt.-Col. Husein Eleje, has tasked army personnel on imbibing the fear of God while performing their national duties.

Eleje gave the task while delivering his homily at a Special Juma’ah Service on Friday held at the Abakpa Cantonment, Enugu as part of activities marking the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) and its 162nd anniversary.

The cleric reminded the officers and soldiers that there are consequences for every action, especially bad and evil deeds.

“You can escape the punishment of men, but you cannot escape that of Almighty Allah.” he said.

Eleje also urged officers and soldiers to be courageous in face of threats while performing their national duties, “as the protective Grace of Almighty Allah will always be with you”.

According to him, you should be more dedicated while performing your duties.

“You should strive to maintain and keep peace as the ultimate goal; while respecting lives and property as you work to ensure peace reign everywhere,” he said.

The cleric prayed for sound health and wisdom for the Commander-in-Chief, President Bola Tinubu; the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa; and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede.

“I also pray for the success of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division, Maj.-Gen. Oluyemi Olatoye; commanders and troops of the Nigerian Army especially those serving in the Division’s Area of Responsibility (AoR),” he said.

Eleje explained that the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) is meant to mark Nigerian Army victory in the fight against internal and external aggressions.

“This Day has been marked to celebrate the achievements made by the Nigeria Army in maintaining peace within and outside our great country – Nigeria,” he said.
