As the school celebrates its 10th anniversary, its founder, Evangelist Edith Chukwuemeka Ogochukwu, reflects on the remarkable milestones achieved and the countless lives transformed.

Evangelist Chukwuemeka’s vision for Tender Heart International School was birthed from a deep passion to draw souls unto Jesus and provide quality education to children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. What started as a ministry to care for the children of widows, orphans, and the less privileged children evolved into a Montessori school that not only imparts knowledge but also instills high moral values.

The school’s commitment to excellence is evident in its impressive track record. Students who have graduated from Tender Heart International School Enugu have gone on to achieve great things, with some securing admissions into prestigious institutions and exceling in various fields. The bond between the school and its alumni is strong, with many past students still maintaining a close relationship with their alma mater. In fact, some of them even spend their holidays at Evangelist Edith’s house, a testament to the family-like atmosphere that pervades the school.

One of the school’s most remarkable aspects is its commitment to supporting children of widows and orphans, who do not pay tuition fees. While they may be required to purchase school uniforms, the school waives tuition fees for these children, making it possible for them to access quality education. This initiative has been made possible through the generosity of adoptive parents and sponsors who partner with the school to support these children.

The school’s spiritual foundation is also a cornerstone of its programs. Every last Thursday of the month, the school observes a special fasting program, where students and staff come together to pray and seek God’s guidance. The students even get to participate in cooking and breaking their fast, which is an integral part of their practical learning experience.

As Tender Heart International School celebrates its 10th anniversary, it is clear that the school’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Speaking to the press on the occasion which also marked the graduation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year, the proprietress, Evangelist Edith Chukwuemeka Ogochukwu wants the government and other well meaning individuals to support the school which operates as a charity home.

“”The governor says tomorrow is here, and our own tomorrow is now today. I wish he will recognize this school. I also wish good spirit individuals should come and sponsor some of the children here as a means of helping their parents. I have done this for ten years now, I do not collect school fees from any body in such category.”

It is only the grace of God that has brought us this far. My teachers do not disappoint me though they come by recommendation. This school started as Tender Heart Foundation before the inspiration to extend it to a school. This is a Montessori school where practical is key to learning and I am proud our school has brought out graduants doing vert well in different fields of study”

In a Valedictory speech, Master Nweze Kenechukwu Sylvester, a Basic 6 graduate.who could not hold his joy said “Today, we celebrate not just our graduation, but the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. As we move forward, we will carry the lessons we’ve learned and the values we’ve been taught. And for me, I will strive to make a positive impact in the world and be the change we wish to see.

“I’m proud to have been part of this journey, and I’m grateful for the support of our teachers, parents, and fellow students. As we go our separate ways, we shall stay connected and continue to support one another’s dreams,”

Some people interviewed by Desirenews correspondent who said that the Tender Heart International School looks to the future, added that its founder’s vision remains bright.
