Anambra Youths Unite in Support of Agunechemba, Reject Disbandment Calls

By  Victor Okezie

Youths across Anambra State’s 179 communities gathered at Light House in Awka to express their solidarity with the state government and Agunechemba, a security outfit.

‎Speaking during the Anambra Youth Solidarity Rally on the theme, ‘Anambra is Ours, and Anambra We Serve,’  the convener His youthfulness Comrade Ken Okoli, emphasized that the absence of security would undermine Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts in securing lives and properties of the people.

‎Okoli observed that the youths and communities have the right to decide  whether the State government is working or not, rather than unpatriotic politicians and individuals.                                           “We are here to discuss the issue on ground and express ourselves  to Ndi Anambra in solidarity rally in support of the government. We also organised this rally to make our voices to be heard that Operation Udogaachi and Agunaecmba should remain as part of the security agencies  providing solution to our security.”

‎According to him, Agunechemba is a body saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and properties in the 179 communities while Udogachi is a joint policing team.

‎The ASTUC Youth Boss, however,  condemned the assault on the female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, calling for those responsible to face the law. Okoli urged the authorities to allow the police and court to handle the matter, ensuring that only the perpetrators are held accountable.

‎He therefore rejected calls to disband Agunechemba and Operation Udogaachi, stressing that those who participated in the assault should face the law. They also called for unity in repositioning the state, supporting Governor Soludo’s developmental revolution.

‎He recalled that the police have disclosed that the said culprits have been arrested and are being questioned in police custody urging the public to allow the police and the court to prosecute and decide on the matter.

‎”We will not take because of errors of some people and disband the operative, but those responsible should face the law.” Okoli further said: “Our brothers in politics should go ahead and concentrate on what they will do for ndi anambra and not campaigning for disbandment of Operation Udogachi.”

“‎They are making  protest to make sure that Operation Udo Ga-Chi should be disbanded before the November 8, 2025 election to make the state ungovernable  to stay and to enable the State fail in area of security for them to manipulate results.” he concluded.

‎While commended the effort of the State government in providing security for the people, he also called on them to come together to unite in repositioning the State as part of their support for the developmental revolution of governor Soludo.

The chief of staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, represented governor Chukwuma Soludo at the event.
