‎Professor Cosmas Chukwuemeka Udeh has reached the pinnacle of academic excellence, receiving a prestigious professorial degree from Charisma University. This esteemed honor recognizes his outstanding contributions to his field of study and dedication to advancing knowledge.

‎The university’s recognition of Prof. Udeh’s contributions underscore the importance of academic excellence and the impact it has on the society. As Prof. Udeh continues to inspire and educate, his legacy will undoubtedly shape the minds of future generations.

‎In a keynote address, the Coordinator African Center, Charisma University, Prof. Christian Ifeanyi Onodugo, remarked, “Those who wish to acquire international knowledge no longer need to travel far and wide. We are celebrating participation in international learning and our university has expanded its reach beyond Nigeria and the African continent.”

‎He highlighted the institution’s achievements, noting that its products can be found in various ministries and parastatals. ‘We have graduated individuals who hold key positions such as the MD of NNPC. Notably, our institution has produced the first professor in forensic accounting and the first female professor in public finance.”

‎Prof. Onodugo congratulated the graduating class, comprising PhD holders, master’s, and Bsc degree students, saying, “On behalf of the senate, I congratulate you on your achievement. What started as a seemingly insurmountable task has become a reality through your tenacity and doggedness. Your track record has earned you this recognition and we are confident that you will make a positive impact globally.”

‎Professor Onodugo emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing peculiar problems facing Africa today and announced plans to build a robust research center for the university.

‎In a thought-provoking convocation lecture, Prof. Florence Onyebuchi Orabueze, a distinguished Professor of English and Literature studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), delivered a compelling address on the significance of citizen participation in good governance. Her lecture, on the title “Citizens’ Participation in Good Governance: A Case Study of Women’s Participation in Nigeria’s System,” underscored the imperative of women’s voices being represented in the country’s political landscape.

‎Prof. Orabueze lamented the persistent marginalization of women in Nigerian politics, emphasizing that their perspectives and contributions are essential for effective governance. She critiqued the existing political system, noting that concepts of government and governance are often lacking. Referencing Ahmad Bello’s insights on national unity, she questioned the authenticity of Nigeria’s democratic practices.

‎The lecture highlighted several pressing issues, including insecurity, corruption, and bad governance. To address these challenges, Prof. Orabueze advocated for: Comprehensive legal reforms to foster growth and accountability, Strengthening the justice system to ensure prompt and fair punishment for offenders, Creation of employment opportunities for the teeming youth population, Encouraging women’s participation in governance through targeted initiatives, such as symposia, seminars and workshops and as well Promoting women’s leadership roles in electoral bodies, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

‎During the convocation ceremony, professorial degrees were also conferred upon other distinguished individuals including: ‎Prof. Ifeanyichukwu Uzochikwu, Prof. Joel Chinedu Ugwuoke and Prof. Lazarus Eneje Ezugwu

‎In his acceptance speech, Prof. Cosmas Udeh expressed profound gratitude to God for the honor, attributing his achievement to divine providence. His colleagues and friends, including Nze Beneth Agu, Rev. fr. Emeka Udeh and Chief Chuma Ugbor, lauded his accomplishment. They encouraged him to continue to give back to the society.
