NUJ Enugu State Council Congratulates Governor Mbah, Raises Concerns on Key Issues

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Council, has congratulated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging him to ensure tangible benefits and greater development for the people of Enugu State.

In a communiqué issued at the end of its October Congress, chaired by Comrade Obinna Ogbuka, the Council also raised concerns on several issues affecting the state, including:

Regulation of MOT Activities: The Council called for a review of the Ministry of Transport’s operations and refresher trainings for personnel to enhance professionalism.
Implementation of Awarded Projects: The Council urged the State Government to expedite action on ongoing and awarded projects, particularly the 141 road projects, to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Smart Schools Enrolment: The Council requested a thorough investigation into the student enrolment process in Smart Schools to ensure transparency and fairness.
Curbing Multiple Task Forces and Enforcement Teams: The Council called for the harmonization and regulation of various task forces and enforcement agencies to prevent extortion and restore public order.

The communiqué was signed by the Communiqué Drafting Committee, comprising Wilfred Chukwuma, Michael Nwatu, and Kelechi Ekeledo (Chairman).
