The Ebonyi State Government says it well continue to reward excellence, hard work, and professionalism in its quest to reposition the state.

To this end, it will not fail to celebrate any sons or daughter who distinguish themselves in their different endeavours.

The Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, gave this assurance in a message to a thanksgiving service of a one time Commissioner for Information in the state, Chike Emmanuel Onwe on his elevation to the rank of Professor of Strategic Communications.

Represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof Amari Omaka, SAN, at the service which took place at EWCA Church, Abakaliki, Nwifuru described Prof Onwe as a hardworking, resilient and polished academic who has distinguished himself in all the places he has served.

He advised Prof Onwe to use his new position to groom well-rounded scholars for the good of the state and humanity.

Prof Omaka used the occasion to drum support of the Ezza nation, and indeed all Ebonyians for Governor Nwifuru.

“His Excellency the governor has done so well in the state. The achievements of His Excellency, especially in the Tertiary Education sector.are numerous.

“Under his watch, we have witnessed increased funding of the state university and tertiary education, building of the University of ICT Oferekpe and University of Aeronautics, and not forgetting the number of local and foreign scholarship awards to deserving Ebonyians”.

He also highlighted the full operationalisation of Ebonyi airport at Onueke Ezza.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included Amb Frank Nchita Ogbuewu, Chief Goddy Ogbagha, Justice Aloy Nwankwo, Rt Hon Chinedu Ogah, Chief Austin Igwe Edeze, Rt Hon Innocent Ugo Chima, Arch Edward Nkwegu, Sen Obinna Ogba, and Sen Emmanuel Onwe.

Others were Hon Darlington Okereke, Rt Hon Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, Chief Ben Oka, Engr Ogbonnaya Obasi, Mrs Felicia Nwamkpuma, Hon Ikeuwa Omebe, Dr Donatus Ilang, Dr Ngozi Obichukwu, Chief Darlington Ugota, Hon Aphosus Nwali among others including Royal fathers, Council chairmen, and DC coordinators.
