The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Ebonyi State, Prof. Amari Omaka, SAN, has demonstrated his commitment to adding value to the lives of rhe less-privileged at the grassroots by putting together a welfare package for them.
The event, which was held in Amasiri community in Afikpo North Local Government Area, brought together women, widows, widowers, orphans, and members of the “Prof. Amari Omaka Support Group for FON” drawn from the two wards in community.
As part of the outreach, Prof. Omaka distributed wrappers, along with bags of rice, spaghetti, several food items, and cash gifts to all beneficiaries. The gesture was aimed at easing the festive burden on vulnerable members of the community and ensuring they shared in the joy of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.




The Commissioner paid a glowing tribute to the tribute to Governor Nwifuru whom he described as a compassionate leader who has the welfare of the people at heart, citing the his numerous scholarship schemes, improved workers salaries, road infrastructure and rural development among others.
Prof Amari Omaka further commended the people for their unwavering commitment to the cause of the party and urged them to sustain their support for the people-oriented administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and enjoined them to go for their PVC and prove their love for the Governor in the forthcoming general elections.
He noted that the Governor had consistently demonstrated love for Amasiri through the appointment of its sons and daughters into positions of trust, the construction of 2-km road and upgrading infrastructure at Amasiri Secondary School, and the award of scholarships to Amasiri indigenes.
“This get-together is organized as a show of appreciation to the people for their continued support for the People’s Charter of Needs administration of Governor Nwifuru,” he explained.
In their separate remarks, the APC Women Leader, Mrs. Agezi, and the Secretary of APC Ezeke Ward, Mrs. Cecilia Amadi commended Prof. Amari Omaka for his effective representation and for his consistent care and support for widows, orphans, and the less-privileged members of the community.
Similarly, the leader of the Prof. Amari Omaka Group for FON, Hon Enya Chukwu Enya, praised the Commissioner for being a grassroots politician with the genuine interest of the people at heart, noting his regular interventions and empowerment of the people.
Earlier, Prof. (Mrs.) Lois Nnenna Amari Omaka, wife of the Commissioner, expressed gratitude to Governor Nwifuru for rewarding Amasiri with the appointment of a Commissioner as part of his inclusive development agenda. She urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to continue to support and vote for Governor Nwifuru as the general elections draw near, as he is the source of all the sundry empowerments made available to them.
Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the kind gesture, describing Prof. Omaka as a compassionate leader whose actions continue to impact positively, impact lives at the grassroots level. They pledged their unwavering support for the election of Governor Nwifuru and the APC at all levels. The event was marked by gratitude, prayers, and goodwill, reinforcing the spirit of unity and giving associated with the Christmas season.
