The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Ebonyi State, Prof Chukwu Amari Omaka SAN has charged stakeholders of All Progressives Congress APC in Amasiri, in Afikpo North Local Government Area to be good Ambassadors of the party.
He was speaking at a New Year dinner he hosted for the party stalwarts in his Amasiri residence, opposite Amasiri Development Centre.
In attendance at the event were current and past Coordinators of Amasiri Development Center, the Senior Legislative Aide, SLA, to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Former State Secretary of APC Ebonyi State, the APC Zonal Youth Leader Ebonyi South, former Councellors, Management Committee members past and present, APC Ward Executives, Amasiri Wards A and B.
The Commissioner took time to thank his guests for always supporting the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who, according to him, has done so much for Amasiri people in particular and Ebonyi State at large.
Omaka admonished them to be good Ambassadors of the Governor and the APC at home and in their various places of work by intensifying political education and grassroots mobilization.
“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate you for the wonderful support you have given to the Nwifuru administration. You have done well so far, but there is room for improvement.
“The next round of elections is around the corner.There is a need for you to start mobilizing the people to improve their participation in the political space.
“For example, start educating all those who have yet to register and obtain their PVC to do so to enable them to turn out em mass to vote for APC in the fourth coming Local Government elections, and for our dear Governor come 2027 general elections.”
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the Coordinator of Amasiri Development Center, Enya Baron Ogbonnia and the SLA to the Speaker of house of Representatives, Chief Chooks Oko thanked the Commissioner for organizing a New year dinner for Stakeholders of our great party.
They also encouraged everyone to continue to support the Governor’s Peoples Charter of Needs programme, which they say had touched citizens’ lives in many ways.
“We are proud to associate with the unprecedented achievements of the Governor such as the on going twin flower and tunnel project at Vanco junction, the two brand new Universities namely, the University of ICT Science and Technology Oferekpe and the University of Aeronautic and Aerospace Engineering Ezza.
“We also acknowledge the over one thousand Overseas and Local scholarship awards to deserving indigens of our dear state, building of three modern class room blocks each in the thirteen Local Government Areas of the state, building of befitting duplexes for each of the traditional rulers in the state, building of an ultra modern Civil Servants Estate, the rehabilitation of Abakaliki capital city internal roads just to mention but a few.
“These are signature projects of this administration,” they concluded.
In a vote of thanks, a former Coordinator of Amasiri Development Center, Hon Elder Paul Agha, discribed the gesture by the Commissioner as a good one and encouraged him to always keep them abreast of Government’s policies and programmes and to also invite them from time to time for meetings.
The stakeholders passed a vote of confidence on the governor and unanimously agreed to support and work for his re-election bid come 2027.
